Treating Sensitive Skin

If you are yet to determine what skin type you have, you are not unlike many other people. Most people don't have to worry too much about it; these lucky people are free of skin problems after awkward acne phases in middle school. Still, some of us suffer from sensitive skin our entire lives. Not sure if you have sensitive skin? Well, if a simple lotion turns your face red and you are prone to bumps and wind damage then more than likely you have sensitive skin.

If you have sensitive skin, you are more prone to eczema, rosacea, acne and even cancer. This means that your skin care regimen need to be more involved and you need to be more particular about the products you purchase.

For starters, your normal routine should be to cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize and protect. These are the golden rules of skin care. What it boils down to if you have sensitive skin is that you are using the proper products that won't make the sensitivity worse.

If you are confused about which products to buy, start by staying away from anything thick and heavy. Also avoid products with strong soaps and oils, use hypoallergenic products that have as little amount of chemicals as possible. The best bet would be to create your own home made products so you can avoid potential irritants.

Not only do you have to worry about your skin care line, but you also have to worry about making sure your skin is protected at all times, always wear sunscreen to ensure that you don't cause any further damage to your skin! Having sensitive skin can be difficult, but if you make use of the right skin care products; you can help reduce the damage that comes along with having sensitive skin.
